QSR’s flexible and reliable ePic Kitchen Display Software (KDS) offers fully customizable views, advanced routing of items and orders, and real-time events. Designed to run optimally on QSR’s durable video controllers, the ePic KDS is implemented successfully with the leading point-of-sale systems. And with its robust feature sets, the KDS answers the needs of all concepts and multi-concepts from one customizable solution. |
Power of definable views
The KDS offers fully definable station views including – Fixed
Grid, Flex Grid, Line Item, and Bin Manager – as
well as the ability to combine these views on the same
physical display. For instance, an operator may choose
to use one monitor station during non-peak periods for
both carry-out and eat-in orders, configuring a 6x1
in the top half of the screen for eat-in orders and a
4x1 in the bottom half of the screen for carry-out orders.
Each virtual view carries specific routing instructions
and keypad or touch screen functions. With
the KDS, virtual views can be configured in more than
seventy different ways, and each keypad can be configured
for more than sixty different options.
Infinitely
configurable
Adding to the power of completely definable views, the KDS offers
unlimited routing options and customizable display attributes,
all at the item and order level. Other advanced features
include flexible bumping alternatives, sorting options
for items and sub-items, and load balancing based on
orders and items, taking into account cook times. Additionally,
the KDS configuration can be altered in real-time using
Activity Levels to operate differently as store conditions
change throughout the day or week.
Speed of service
The event-driven architecture of the KDS helps manage kitchen activities by gathering important operational data and events in real-time that can be used to improve the speed and efficiency of the store. Average service times are displayed on the header of each view. Additionally, all actions in the KDS are captured and time-stamped, and can be easily extracted in user-defined record formats for use with third party applications.
|
Easy to Use Reports
Harnessing the power of Crystal Reports®, the KDS provides maximum flexibility for operators to use pre-set store level reports as well as create custom reports. Reading and running report files created in Crystal Reports, the KDS reports use a special timed events table that captures all order and item level events, including bump records, cook actions, and display times. |

Mission critical
Highly reliable, the KDS provides added features to handle situations
automatically should a system failure occur in the mission
critical kitchen. With unmatched redundancy, the KDS can be configured to automatically send the routing of items that would normally go to a down device to a backup device. The KDS also offers a persistent data feature that provides for immediate recovery of all transactional data at each station view in the event of a failure, such as a power outage.
Intuitive management tools
The KDS is configured and maintained through easy-to-use management tools. Configuration options are made simple through the use of intuitive wizards within the KDS Builder Pro. And because the KDS is XML-based, it is easy to download, extract, and re-use configuration data. For added ease, the KDS uses any data provided by the point-of-sale, such as item categories and cook times.
The KDS Console acts as the day-to-day user interface for monitoring the system and making real-time changes, such as changing Activity Levels based on store volumes.
